About the role
Library Services provides a range of high-quality scholarly information resources and services to the Federation University community. We endeavour to deliver services that recognise the diversity and needs of all client groups; to be both responsive and innovative in our service delivery and to be a vital contributor supporting the high-quality learning and research opportunities.
The Library Frontline Service Officer contribute to students’ transition to University and the delivery of the Library’s frontline services to new and returning students. You will respond to and provide accurate, timely advice and information to new, existing, and prospective students, staff, and visitors. You will also be expected to be the first-point of contact for all customers, interpreting and resolving queries and referring more complex enquiries to the relevant work areas.

Working under the general supervision of the Library Services Supervisor, you will possess a sound knowledge and understanding of a broad range of information relating to library services, and University services.
You will also possess demonstrable proactive customer service focus and the ability to communicate effectively to diverse stakeholders in addition to the ability to exercise initiative and complete tasks in a busy service-centered environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- timely and effective customer-service;
- contribute to the ongoing operations of the team;
- ensure delivery excellence of services and the availability of resources; and
- ensure accuracy of data-entry in the Library University Systems.
