About the role
The Institute of Education, Arts and Community offers qualifications from associate degree through to postgraduate levels in humanities and social sciences, community and human services, visual and performing arts, early childhood, primary, secondary and vocational education and training. The Scholarly Teaching Fellow, Criminology and Criminal Justice will contribute to the development and delivery of professional practice courses at undergraduate and graduate levels and to the delivery and development of online teaching resources.

Working under the support and guidance of senior academic staff, you will work as part of the Institute’s team, demonstrating an understanding of transition pedagogy and student-centred learning frameworks to support effective online and blended learning experiences while also providing advice, guidance and assessments for Pre Service Teachers (PSTs) on professional experience placements.
For appointment at Level A
- prepare and deliver lectures, tutorials, practical classes and other learning sessions;
- mark and assess courses at undergraduate and graduate diploma level, in professional practice; and
- implement blended models of delivery, using appropriate technologies; and
- participate in the development of course curriculum and teaching materials.
For appointment at Level B
- develop, teach, coordinate and moderate undergraduate and postgraduate courses in professional practice;
- undertake teaching and assessment of undergraduate and postgraduate students; and
- undertake scholarly activities; and
- supervise students undertaking project courses in postgraduate programs.
Scholarly teaching fellows – Please note, in accordance with the Federation University Australia Union Enterprise Agreement | Academic and General Staff Employees | 2019-2021, to be eligible for a Scholarly Teaching Fellow position, applicants must have at least one years’ academic appointment, excluding a person who has held a continuing academic appointment.
