About the role

The School of Education offers qualifications from associate degree through to postgraduate levels in initial teacher education (early childhood, primary, secondary and vocational education and training), sport, physical and outdoor education, as well as a range of pathway programmes. The Scholarly Teaching Fellow, Mathematics Education will contribute to the development and delivery of professional practice courses at undergraduate and graduate levels and to the delivery and development of online teaching resources.

About you

Working under the support and guidance of senior academic staff, you will work as part of the School’s team, demonstrating an understanding of transition pedagogy and student-centred learning frameworks to support effective online and blended learning experiences while also providing advice, guidance and assessments.

You will:

For appointment at Level A

  • prepare and deliver lectures, tutorials, practical classes and other learning sessions;
  • mark and assess courses at undergraduate and graduate diploma level, in mathematics education;
  • implement blended models of delivery, using appropriate technologies; and
  • participate in the development of course curriculum and teaching materials.

For appointment at Level B

  • develop, teach, coordinate and moderate undergraduate and postgraduate courses in professional practice;
  • undertake teaching and assessment of undergraduate and postgraduate students; and
  • undertake scholarly activities; and
  • supervise students undertaking project courses in postgraduate programs.

Please note, in accordance with the Federation University Australia Union Enterprise Agreement | Academic and General Staff Employees | 2019-2021, to be eligible for a Scholarly Teaching Fellow position, applicants must have at least one years’ academic appointment in an Australian University, excluding a person who has held a continuing academic appointment.
