About the role
The Early Childhood Educator, Certificate III Qualified will support the delivery of programs to meet the needs, strengths and interests of the children. Whilst working part of the team the Early Childhood Educator, Certificate III Qualified will promote a caring and engaging environment for each child.
Our childcare centres are located with the Commercial Services Directorate, responsible for delivering a wide range of services (accommodation, Health and Aquatic services, Hospitality and events, retail, and our children’s centres) across all campuses of the University, focused on customer excellence.

Reporting to the Coordinator, Children's Centre, you will provide quality care and learning environments for children whilst having an understanding of health and safety requirements specific to Early Childhood Education. You will have well-developed organisational, written and communication skills including conflict resolution. In addition, as the successful applicant, you will have the ability to work as part of a team.
- assist with the development of educational programs for children;
- support and encourage positive relationships;
- work collaboratively and actively contribute to the team environment;
- undertake duties to assist in the general running of the centre; and
- have sound knowledge of the Child Safe Standards, child safety and child protection.
All University positions delivering education and/or services to children must hold a valid Working With Children Check (WWCC). Please refer to the position description for WWCC requirements.
Directions from Victoria’s Chief Health Officer require all Victorian-based Federation University workers to have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine by 22 October 2021 and to be fully vaccinated by 26 November 2021, unless they are an Excepted Person as defined by the COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination (Workers) Directions.
