About the role
The Early Childhood Educator, Room Leader is responsible for providing programs which meet the needs, strengths and interests of the children. Whilst working as part of a team the Early Childhood Educator, Room Leader will promote a caring and engaging environment for each child.
Our childcare centres are located with the Commercial Services Directorate, responsible for delivering a wide range of services (accommodation, Health and Aquatic services, Hospitality and events, retail, and our children’s centres) across all campuses of the University, focused on customer excellence.

Reporting to the Coordinator Federation Children’s Centres, you will have an understanding of early childhood development and the ability to provide a quality learning environment. You will also have well-developed organisational, written and communication skills including conflict resolution. In addition, as the successful applicant you will have demonstrated the ability to lead a team, delegate tasks and supervise others.
- plan, implement and critically reflect on programs based on the children’s individual needs;
- communicate effectively with children, families, educators and other professionals;
- be responsibility for a diverse group of children;
- provide children with a safe and stimulating environment; and
- supervise and provide leadership to other staff.
To be eligible, you must possess:
- a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC);
- a Diploma of Early Childhood Education;
- Completion of the Victorian Government, Department of Education online training ‘Protecting Children- Mandatory Reporting and other obligations’ eLearning Module; and
- a Current COVID-19 vaccination certificate.
